“The M Song” on www.myspace.com/sweetspotsounds

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

As promised in a few posts earlier, I said I would let you guys know when that song for the clothing line “M The Movement” is up on their website. It’s up so go check it out! I just posted the song on my MySpace production and songwriting page at www.myspace.com/sweetspotsounds! The song is a little longer than a regular song because it is meant to be background music while your shopping for clothes so make sure to listen all the way to the end to hear me featured singing! You can also check out the official M The Movement website and hear the song on there too at www.mthemovement.com.

I’m Twitter-ific!

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Ok I had more to say today than I thought so another blog ;) I just joined this cool little networking site called Twitter (check out the Twitter widget on my MySpace page)….

It allows you to keep up with me on a day to day basis! I’ll be updating from my cell phone too when I’m on the go. So when I don’t have time to write a full blog I can still keep you posted on the trials and tribulations of yours truly (geez that sounds like a sappy soap opera   )

So any who, join me on Twitter by clicking HERE.

Here’s what Twitter has to say about Twitter:
Twitter is a unique approach to communication and networking based on the simple concept of status. What are you doing? What are your friends doing—right now? With Twitter, you may answer this question over SMS, IM, or the Web and the responses are shared between contacts.

peace ya’ll!

From “The Color Purple”….to my latest Photoshoot

Monday, February 25th, 2008

This weekend was super busy! Thursday night my mom was in town and we went to see “The Color Purple” the musical. It was amazing. I didn’t even know Michelle Williams was in it until she stepped on stage. She was amazing and so was Jeannette Bayardelle who played the lead role of Celie. I forgot how much I love live theater and musicals. The talent it takes to perform so flawlessly on a LIVE stage is inspiring! If you live or will be visiting the LA area, you should definitely go see the show at the Ahmanson Theater. It will be running until March 9, 2008.

I’ve been trying to finish singing and mixing a bunch of demos for songs I’ve written that are being submitted to different artists. Lot’s of work, but it’s always fun. Saturday I sang and wrote on this song that’s going to be used for the website of this new clothing line called “M The Movement”. As soon as the song is posted on the site I will let you guys know and later I’ll be posting the song on my myspace page as well.

Then Sunday I did a test shoot with photographer, Anthony “Thosh” Collins. The shots look amazing! I’ll post them soon. You can check out Anthony’s work by clicking here. We’re going to do another full blown shoot in the near future and I can’t wait. The shots we did this weekend were done with only a hairstylist because the makeup artist had an emergency and couldn’t make it. So I did my own makeup with just the little bit I had in my purse! Talk about making due! And even so, they still came out great. I can’t wait to share so stay tuned for that.

And last, but not least, I still need to post some new video from my last few sessions with Jean-Marie Horvat and some other writing sessions as well. I just need to find some time to go through and edit the video! (Because I know you guys don’t want to sit there and watch hours of footage haha!)

Have a great week! I’ll be back

I’m in the ZONE!

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

I just got home from an amazing vocal session with Jean-Marie!!! It was incredible. I’ve never felt so free and in the pocket singing wise. I just felt like I was out of my body. It felt so wonderful. I was so in the zone that when I got back in the control room to listen back, I couldn’t believe it was even me singing. I’m completely attributing this to Jean-Marie’s amazing skills as a producer as well as my new practice of Bikram yoga and meditation. I know that probably sounds strange, but I just started practicing Bikram yoga and its helping with my breathing tremendously, not to mention my overall physical strength and flexibility. I used to practice Taekwondo on an elite level, competitively for years and Bikram gives me that same sense of mental strength I found in Taekwondo. That mental strength helps me get into a centered place and I really felt the benefits of that tonight in the studio.

So overall it was a truly inspiring experience and it looks like we have another single contender! I’m really proud of this song and I can’t wait to share it with you guys. I’ll be posting up video soon from the session!

peace and blessings!

The song is still in progress, but I just couldn’t wait to give you guys a sneak peak of what I’ve been cooking up in the studio!!! It’s definitely a completely new sound from me so please check it out and tell me what you think! The final version will be up there soon! Hope you love it as much as I do
